Pink Lac Raffia
$15.00Price
This special bundle of Besalampy Extra raffia has been dyed naturally with Lac extract.
Lac is a red dye from the scale insect Laccifer lacca which is found throughout India, south east Asia, Nepal, Burma, Bhutan and south China. It is actually a bit of a pest, invading trees and leaving their sap on them. This sap (rather than the insect) is used to make dyes - and shellac nail powder but that is not what we are doing here haha.
I think it gives a more vibrant and thorough pink/red colour than cochineal. I like it!
⭐️ 80g Bundle contains approximately 40 strands of dyed raffia and 40 strands of natural raffia.
